Officially our monsoon season here in Phuket last till the end of October. But last few years, we are getting reasonable good weather that please tourists come to Phuket, even during the monsoon season, not just October.
Well, few days ago, rain had started late evening and kept going till following day late morning. I remember sometime in September, 1997...yeh 10 years ago, rained everyday and around Chalong circule(nerar boat pier), people were using little boat to cross road. I do not remember we have had that kind of rain for quite sometime till few days ago.
Me and my husband were looking outside and amazed by so much rain. We decide to drive around...bit silly, but had lots of quriosity. Even we were driving one of those pick up truck, but water level were quite high and found a few cars stuck and could not move at middle of road.
Considering we had that much rain not too many days ago, it's very dry and sunny now. Hope this will stay on, so I can go diving with customers with nice sun!!

Diving at Phi Phi
It's been one week since airplan crash at Phuket international airport. Weather has been OK, but we were expected to have bit of wind as tyhoon was hitting China.
I had huge concern to take people out for diving yesterday, "BUT" it truned up to be very good weather and water condition. Surface was very flat, reasonably sunny.....underwater was pretty good, 15m++ visibility, more than a few leapoard sharks along with lots of school of fish and colorfull coral.
Boat ride was easy 3 hours one way, but in the end customers thought it was worth for the time it took to get there. Good day !!

Birthday Party
Happy Birthday to yoooou !! We got an invitation from one of our friend lives near our office in Chalong for his wife's birthday.
It's been kind of quiet and weather has been awfully bad, even it gave us little break yesterday....this invitation was very welcome by us.
After done our exercise at our gym to burn some calories that about to gain back in a few hours, freshen up and ready to go out by 18:30.
Party was set at a little restaurant,it's called "meeting point". We never been there, but told pretty good place. Yes, we got an opportunity. Nothing fancy, but foods were great, though can be bit spicier for us !
Away from people who are related to our business were not there...good sign ???? meeting different people made our night great !! Thanks to Rose and Chaz.

Plane crash at Phuket Airport
My husband got a phone call from our friend who lives near Ao Por, said "Plane crash and lots of ambulance."
That call made us concern as we are in tourism industry. Hope the best things are not as bad as normal airplane crash. Reality, it sounded pretty bad.

My condolences to the families and friends of the victims. Hope things clear up soon.

Earth Day, 15th of September
Yesterday was "Earth Day" there were a few dive operators in Phuket who organized under water clean up. I was happy enough to join them to do something good for our environment.
Unfortunately with quite strong wind, boat ride was bit hard on some people who have sensitive stomach. But through the day till really end, weather stayed OK and actually underwater was pretty good condition. To me this day was very different from all others, because I participated this event by myself...no one to look after, no students, no customers.
Most trash we collected were fishing lines and nets, some bottles, small tires. Total amount of trash were not that big amount compare to few years ago. Maybe because event was smaller scale, maybe because people had been caring ?????
There were a few people who are members of Green Fins and they were wearing their T-Shirts says on the back how many years to take some of items to be disposed. It says even food take 2 years and worst one is bottles....guess one million years !!
Hope this kind of event continues and more people are awear of environment we are living in.

Just back from Japan
My father passed away 5 years ago in August. He was only 60 years old. Cause of death...cancer. It was too, too late to get to know. We had a very good doctor and hospital who tried with their best to keep my father....but just too late.
Although my father did not speak to me for 3 years after I got married with "Gaijin"=foreign man, but we had very special relationship. I really miss him.You might be thinking what this got to do with me just got back from Japan ???
In Japanese culture, there are several celebration after some one die. This year was 5th year for my father, nanakaiki (= physically only 5 full years, but in Buddha year counts as 7th year.) That was the main reason I went back to Japan. It has been 4 years since last. I almost got lost to get where my mother lives.
Me & my husband owns a small business in Phuket and it's not easy both of us to leave together. Therefore this visit was only 7 days including travelling time. 7 days was simply just too short after 4 years. But it was a great !!
Not that we live in a huge house in Phuket, but we felt my mother's house was so small....where I actually grew up !! With my husband who's berry grew up bigger than last time he was there made him really feel squeezy, even toilet.
Anyway, family and relative get together to remembering my father was very special ivent for all of us. Hope we all can meet like this on next time.
After visiting father's favorite mountain lodge which he had built by himself for a few days and hit SUSHI restaurants for a few times, it was already for us to leave. Miss my mother now.
One of my customer in Phuket said to me before this trip, "Wonder which one you will feel as your home. The one in Japan ? or in Phuket ?" At this moment, I rather not to answer this question myself...perhaps I would like to keep both as my homeS.
